Man charged with calling in bomb threat

An employee of a Rosemount business faces felony charges after he allegedly called in bomb threats to his own work place.

Police were notified at 9:44 p.m. Dec. 12, according to a criminal complaint filed in the Dakota County attorney’s office. The reporting party said a man called and said there was a bomb in the business, then hung up. The business received a second call from a man saying he was paid $50 to place a call saying there is a bomb at the business.

Phone records from the business showed the same number made four calls to the location. This number belonged to Cord Gee. Gee’s name did not appear in the DVS. The police found a social networking page with the name Cord Gee. On that page was an email address with Gee’s real name, Cordarryl Rashun Gooden. He was an employee at the Rosemount business.

Police called the number that allegedly called in the bomb threats. A man answered the phone and confirmed he was Gooden, and that he worked at the business. When asked about what he knew about the case, Gooden said he knew about the bomb threat. He also indicated he may have been working during one of the bomb threats.

Gooden is being charged with terroristic threats. If convicted he could face up to three years in prison and up to a $3,000 fine.
