Senior Babe Ruth: Lots of runs last week in game against Burnsville

Rosemount’s senior Babe Ruth team followed up two high-scoring games with a close result and a forfeit to run its record to 5-3 last week.
Rosemount split a doubleheader with Burnsville June 11, winning the first game 12-7 before losing the second 22-13. The team then beat Faribault 3-2 Wednesday and got a forfeit from Elko Friday.
Rosemount scored three runs in the first inning, one in the third and one in the fourth in last week’s first game against Burnsville but still trailed 7-5 heading into the seventh inning. Rosemount got seven runs in the top of the seventh and held Burnsville scoreless to earn the win.
The second game saw each team put up a 12-run inning – Burnsville in the second and Rosemount in the third – on the way to the 35-run combined total. Burnsville also got four runs in the first, two in the fourth and four in the fifth on the way to the win. Rosemount’s only other scoring was a single run in the fifth.
Rosemount didn’t score more than one run in any inning June 13 as it beat Faribault, 3-2. Rosemount got runs in the first, fourth and fifth, then held Faribault to a pair of runs in the sixth.
