Rosemount grad Schwartz is a MLB draft pick

Rosemount High School graduate Blake Schwartz is going to get a shot at the Big Leagues.
Schwartz, a standout pitcher at RHS, Minnesota State-Mankato and Oklahoma City University, was selected in the 17th round of the Major League Baseball draft.
According to information from RHS, the 2008 graduate was a two-time NCAA Division II all-American, two-time NCAA Division II Central Region Pitcher of the Year and Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Pitcher of the year in three years at Mankato. He had an 11-4 record with a 3.74 ERA and 113 strikeouts while pitching 98.2 innings as a senior. He earned second-team all-Sooner Athletic Conference honors.
Overall, Schwartz was 35-9 in his college career. He was the 534th selection overall in the draft.
