Drug task force busts man with marijuana

When the police were at his door, Jeremy Paulsen apparently didn’t make much effort to hide the illegal substances in his home.

According to a complaint filed this week in the Dakota County Attorney’s office, the 35-year-old Rosemount resident told Dakota County Drug Task Force agents just where they could find his stash of marijuana when they showed up at his door last February.

Task force agents showed up at Paulsen’s home Feb. 21 with a narcotics search warrant. Paulsen directed them to a spot above his washing machine and according to the complaint told the agents several times he didn’t have any other drugs.

Agents found a scale and a total of 112.55 grams of marijuana in the laundry room.

If convicted on a felony fifth-degree drug charge Paulsen could face up to five years in jail and fines of up to $10,000. A petty misdemeanor charge for possession of drug paraphernalia has a maximum fine of $300.
