The Dakota County Board of Commissioners met on May 22, 2012 and took action with respect to the following matters:

Approvals: County Board Meeting Minutes - May 8, 2012. Application - Lifeworks Services, Inc. Program location change. Grants - Apply for grant funding for cultural resources interpretation plan for Mississippi River Regional Trail (MRRT). Sponsorship of snowmobile club grant-in-aid program for maintaining snowmobile trails. Licenses - Assemblage of Large Numbers of People and Temporary 3.2% Malt Liquor Beverage licenses for Midwest Mopars, Inc. Policy – Amend Dangerous Dogs and Potentially Dangerous Dogs in Dakota County Townships. Proclamation - May 20-26, 2012 - Emergency Medical Services Week in Dakota County. Projects - County Project (CP) 85-17 easement acquisition, Hampton Township. Cedar Avenue Transitway Station area appraisal work. Property - Conveyance of tax-forfeited parcel to Dakota County. Resignations - Dakota-Scott Workforce Investment Board and Human Services Advisory Committee members. Staff - 2.0 FTE "Navigators" to assist specialized populations with financial eligibility processes.

Authorizations: Agreement - Friends of the Mississippi River to acquire easements on Macalester College Property, Inver Grove Heights (IGH). Closed Executive Session - Discussed purchasing conservation easements on Lindberg and Grannis Properties. Contracts - Home, community-based, and Dakota County Collaborative services with licensed providers. Dakota County Receiving Center, Inc. for group residential housing funding at Cochran House. KCQ, Inc. for homeless outreach and housing services. Pro-Tec Design, Inc. for security systems maintenance services. Premium Electrical Services, LLC and Huntington Technical Services, Inc. for electrical maintenance services. HKGi to update the Lebanon Hills Regional Park Master Plan. Rachel Contracting, Inc. for MRRT Central Segment. SEH, Inc. for CP 28-30 construction engineering services. Hardrives, Inc. for CP 28-30. Joint Powers Agreements - MN Department of Health for childhood lead poisoning risk assessment technical assistance services. Intermediate School districts (ISD) for early intervention services. ISD 917 for Community Transition Interagency Committee facilitation and coordination services. City of IGH for Heritage Village Park MRRT trailhead improvements. Ratified - Community development funding requests to U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Request - MN Department of Natural Resources to inspect watercraft for invasive species at county park public water accesses.
