The Rosemount Black Sox opened the season with back-to-back wins over Plainview and White Bear Township.
It took a nine-run top half of the ninth inning for the Black Sox to escape with a 12-8 victory over Plainview May 16. Four days later, newcomer Eric Hendricks tossed five shutout innings in a rain-shortened 4-0 decision over White Bear Township at Alimagnet Park in Burnsville.
Chris Adams led the Black Sox with two RBI.
Lance Anderson provided a quality start in the opener, allowing three runs in six innings.
“Ben Lemke and Anderson are going to give us steady pitching at the top of the rotation,” Black Sox manager Dave Molde said. “Offensively I think we’re going to put the best lineup on the field in the 10 years I’ve been here. We’re going to put up good numbers with the bats.”
The Black Sox (2-0) take on the Eagan Bandits tonight at Goat Hill and hit the road to Austin Saturday for a doubleheader with the Austin Blue Sox and Austin Greyhounds.
