The Dakota County Board of Commissioners met on May 8, 2012 and took action with respect to the following matters:
Approvals: County Board Meeting Minutes - April 24, 2012. Acceptance - Materials Processing Corporation financial assurance status for its special hazardous waste processing facility, Mendota Heights. Appointments - Endorsed nomination of Commissioner Nancy Schouweiler as Chair of the National Association of Counties Justice and Public Safety Steering Committee. Lower MN River Watershed District Board of Managers member. Licenses - Assemblage of Large Numbers of People Licenses for MN Scottish Fair and Highland Games and Dakota City Heritage Village WWII Re-Enactment Event. Proclamation - Mental Health Month, May 2012. Property - Pursue acquisition of Ries Property, Spring Lake Park Reserve. Grant easements to City of South St. Paul for Hardman Avenue reconstruction. Right of way acquisition for County Project (CP) 5-41, Burnsville. Public Hearings Held - Approve Dakota County's Federal Fiscal Year 2012 Action Plan for Community Development Block Grant and HOME Investment Partnerships Programs and Adopt Social Host Ordinance for southern Dakota County cities and townships effective 30 days after May 8, 2012.
Authorizations: Agreements - Cities of Apple Valley and Rosemount for CP 33-10. Contracts - Hammel, Green and Abrahamson, Inc. for Whitetail Woods Regional Park design services. AAA Striping Service for CP 97-119 epoxy markings on county highway system. Global Infrastructure, LLC for Byllesby Dam sluice gate repairs. Graphic Design for preparation and delivery of 2012 Primary and General Election ballots. Encroachment Agreements - Magellan Pipeline Company for County State Aid Highway 23, Cedar Avenue Transitway. Xcel Energy for CP 33-11 trail construction. Joint Powers Agreement - Vermillion River Watershed Joint Powers Organization for Rosemount/Flint Hills Ravine Project, Mississippi River Regional Trail.
