Girls golf: Flynn, McDonald set pace at home meetFlynn place sixth with a round of 82

The Rosemount girls golf team got a sixth place finish from Molly Flynn and a top-10 performance from Monica McDonald on the way to third place at its own invitational May 12 at Emerald Greens Golf Course.
Red Wing was a runaway winner with a score of 313. Edina took second with a 336 and Rosemount was third with 350. Chaska was fourth with a 358.
Flynn, a junior, tied for sixth with an 18-hole score of 82. McDonald, a freshman, had an 84. Rosemount’s other two counting scores came from senior Mackenzie Gogolin, who shot an 89, and sophomore Molly Reber, who had a 95. Ashlee Humble had a 100 for the Irish and senior Katie Peare had a 106.
Red Wing’s Marisa Toivonen won the meet with a 72.
