Dennis to receive award April 18

Rosemount senior Laura Dennis will be one of 39 Athena Award winners honored for their achievements in athletics at a ceremony Wednesday, April 18, at the prom Center in Oakdale.

Dennis, the daughter of Luann Dennis, has earned 10 varsity letters for the Irish — four apiece in cross country and track and two in basketball. She has been named honorable mention all-conference in all three sports and All-State in track where she was part of Rosemount’s fifth-place 4x400 and 4x800 relay teams.

Dennis is also a four-year member of the Rosemount concert band and the National Honor Society. She has done volunteer work for the food shelf, the Polar Plunge for the Special Olympics, RAAA track meets and youth basketball clinics.

Dennis will continue her education at the University of Minnesota Duluth.
