Two groups of Rosemount Girl Scouts from Troop 51836 recently completed work on projects for their Silver Awards.
The group of Selina LouLou, Marissa Owens and Olivia Steffenhagen completed a project called Tie Dye for Teens. They made tie dyed pillowcases and filled them with books, movies, games and necessities for kids staying at the Lewis House.
The girls organized tie-dye parties for Girl Scouts and friends and collected donations for the Lewis House. They also made a video to educate others about the Lewis House.
The group delivered 45 pillowcases earlier this month.
The group of Amber Billings, Abby Heidenreich, Cassiday Hormann and Rachael Nieslen called their project Friends Taking Action. They worked together to help families in Independent School District 196.
The girls sold hand-sewn pillowcases at the Girl Scout craft fair to buy Christmas gifts for families going through financial troubles. They led a group sewing activity and created a cookbook to sell.
