Missing: One letter jacketRosemount High School graduate is looking for her mother's RHS letter jacket

In Norah Carroll’s imagination, the jacket is still sitting in the front closet of a Rosemount home, long forgotten by owners who don’t remember how it ended up there.
It’s a Rosemount High School letter jacket, blue wool with a gold flap on the back. The name Maureen is stitched in cursive on the side pocket.
The jacket dates back to the 1970s. It belonged to Carroll’s mother, and for the past year the 2007 RHS graduate, has been trying to track it down. It’s her attempt to make up for a mistake she made when she was still a student at Rosemount Middle School.
Back in those days, Carroll was excited about the prospect of earning her own letter jacket. Until she could, though, she liked to wear her mom’s old jacket. She thought it was cool, and she wore it a lot.
Then, one day, the jacket went missing. Carroll figures she left it at a friend’s house or somewhere else around town. But it was months before anyone realized it was gone, and by then nobody knew where it might be.
“I feel terribly about having lost something she kept for so long, and something of so much value to our family,” Carroll said. “She doesn’t hold it against me, but every so often it comes up in our conversation and I start feeling guilty all over again.”
About a year ago, Carroll placed an ad on Craigslist and in the Facebook marketplace. She’s set up Google alerts so she’ll be notified if anything is posted online about it.
She hasn’t had any luck yet, but she’s not giving up. She’s still running the Craigslist ad, and she’s started sending messages to Rosemount-based Twitter users in hopes her message might jar somebody’s memory.
“I’ve always loved that my mom has so many of her old things from high school because it ties us together,” Carroll said. “I still hope that someday, someone will find the jacket and think of us.”
