The Rosemount Knights of Columbus do a great deal of good in the community. To do that though, they need to raise money. So the Catholic men’s organization is putting on a spring turkey and ham Bingo fundraiser.

The Rosemount Knights of Columbus will host the event at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 25 at St. Joseph’s Church Social Hall.

Grand Knight Jeff Bunke said the event will mirror the group’s fall Bingo event. The event will have a Mardi Gras theme. Proceeds raised will be distributed to different charities. Dan Mills and Jeff Fischbach are chairs of the event.

This will be the second spring Bingo event the council has held. Last year about 200 people showed up to play Bingo.

“We have a lot of fun with it…. We invite anybody in the community to come out,” said Bunke.

Bunke expects a crowd for the event. He said it’s a good opportunity to win an Easter meal.

There will be concessions available. This year the KCs will serve jambalaya as part of the Mardi Gras theme. Hot dogs, chips, soda and baked goods will also be available.

The Rosemount Knights of Columbus do a number of good deeds in the community and beyond. The group, which boasts more than 380 members, has supported youth mission trips, Relay for Life, the Rosemount Family Resource Center, individuals in the community and more.

The group also does the Wall of Compassion at the Dakota County Fair each summer. The group asks fairgoers to write something to soldiers serving overseas, then sends the comments onto the soldiers.

The price for the turkey bingo is $10 for the first card and $5 for each additional card.  Bunke said there will be 40 games played. The last game will be a coverall with a cash prize.
