Shannon Park students celebrate Chinese New Year

First graders at Shannon Park Elementary School celebrated the Chinese New Year with a parade Friday afternoon.

First graders at Shannon Park Elementary School rang in the Chinese New Year Friday with their annual parade through the school's hallways.
Students made dragons out of construction paper, cloth and other materials and colored dragon masks. They marched through the halls Friday afternoon ringing triangles, banging wooden sticks and chanting Gung Hay Fat Choy, a Chinese wish for good fortune and happiness.
