Letters: Kudos marching band

To the editor:

Congratulations to the RHS Marching Band for a highly successful afternoon clinic and evening performance on Saturday, 9/24 at the Irondale HS Music of the Knight. The RHS Marching Band earned 1st place and several caption awards.

Thank you to the RHS Parent Chaperones and to the Parents who helped with loading and unloading the RHS equipment trailer throughout the afternoon and evening – your help is deeply needed and appreciated!

The Clinicians who worked with the RHS Marching Band on Saturday afternoon are well-known and highly respected BOA adjudicators, with extensive experience teaching and adjudicating many of the top marching bands and drum corps in the nation. They were very affirming and complimentary of the RHS Marching Band show design, student’s performance level, work ethic and open-mindedness. They challenged the students to continue working hard to clean and refine their visual and musical performance to higher levels – and encouraged the students.

Thank you to all of the parents for your enthusiastic support at these events and for showing your support of all bands and performances.

We are proud of our students’ excellent performance and classy behavior both on and off the performance field.
