The Rosemount Black Sox overcame an early three-run deficit in an 8-6 road win over the Elko Express last Tuesday.
The Express touched up Rosemount starter Justin Wallace for five runs in the bottom of the second, then were held to one run over the final five innings by Wallace and reliever Michael Robohm.
Wallace worked six innings, allowing six runs on seven hits while striking out 10. He was made a winner when the Black Sox offense pushed across three runs in the top of the sixth and two more in the seventh to break a 6-6 tie.
Robohm held the Express to one hit and struck out three over the final three innings to pick up the save.
Four Black Sox accounted for two of the team’s 12 hits. Chris Adams was 2 for 5 with two runs scored and two RBI, Lance Anderson was 2 for 3 with a triple and two RBI, and Dylan Porter and Matt Foley each went 2 for 4.
The Black Sox, now 11-9 overall, faced the Burnsville Bobcats and the Dundas Dukes in a pair of road games this week before tonight’s trip north to take on the Coon Rapids Redbirds. The team is back home this weekend for a Saturday game against the Lakeville Athletics and a Sunday matchup with the Savage Outlaws.
