Master Gardener plant sale
Start your spring plant shopping at the Master Gardeners of Dakota County plant sale from 9 a.m. to noon May 14 at the University of Minnesota Outreach, Research and Education Park (UMore), 1605 West 160th Street.
This year’s sale will feature native grasses, time-tested favorites such as daylilies, hostas and coneflowers, herbs, fruit and shrubs grown primarily in the gardens of Dakota County Master Gardeners. New for sale this year will be compost, aged horse manure and several varieties of heirloom tomatoes. Browse hundreds of plants in the new nursery area that can be placed in native gardens, English cottage gardens, shade gardens, rain gardens and more. Plan ahead by reviewing the list of plants for sale, to be posted on the Master Gardeners of Dakota County blog at blog.lib.umn.edu/mgweb/dakota. As usual, plants will be in a minimum of one gallon pots and priced to sell. Planting and care instructions will accompany each purchase and Master Gardeners will be available to answer questions and provide garden advice. Purchases may be made with cash or check. Arrive early for the best selection, as plants sell out quickly and the sale will begin promptly. For even faster check out, consider bringing a cart or wagon.
