Jackson advances to state wrestling meet, nine others place at sections

Rosemount's Adam Jackson took second place at 152 pounds at the Class 3A, Section 3 individual meet last week, qualifying for this week's state meet. Nine other Irish individuals place at the section meet.

Rosemount's Adam Jackson took second place at 152 pounds at the Class 3A, Section 3 individual meet last week, qualifying for this week's state meet at the Xcel Energy Center.

Nine other Irish individuals placed at the section meet.

Jackson took second place after losing in the championship round to undefeated and top-ranked Destin McCauley of Apple Valley. Jackson is ranked No. 3 in the state at 152 pounds.

At 103 pounds Rosemount's Danny Rosa took third place. Nick Paxson was third at 135 pounds and Josh Francois was third at 160 pounds.

Heavyweight Jon Bishop took fourth place.

Adam Hedin and Colin Busho eached finished fifth.

Kwame Owusu, Sam Moeller, and Jake Pruter placed sixth in their respective weight classes.
