In another one-goal decision, Rosemount beat Hastings 3-2 in overtime to advance to the finals of the Class 2A, Section 3 girls hockey tournament.

The Irish, who beat Woodbury 4-3 earlier in the week, were also taken to the brink of elimation by the Raiders.

Rosemount's Kendra Goodrich scored her second goal of the game at the 2:54 mark of overtime on assists from Rachael Kelly and Taylor Sampson to put the top-seeded Irish into the section finals.

Hastings started the scoring in the first, but Rosemount countered with two goals before the first intermission. Sampson scored with an assist to Kelly, and Goodrich scored a power-play goal with assists to Allison Micheletti and Kelly.

The Raiders were able to push the game into overtime with a tying goal in the third.

Caitlin Dantzscher made 18 saves for the Irish.

Rosemount will face No. 2 seed Eastview in the section finals. The Lightning beat Burnsville 4-0 in Saturday's other semifinal.

The Irish and Eastview met three times during the regular season. The Lightning won the first two games, both in December. Rosemount recovered to beat Eastview in the regular season finale last week.

The section finals are set for 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 16 at the Veteran's Memorial Community Center in Inver Grove Heights.
