The top-seed Rosemount girls hockey team survived its first game of the Class 2A, Section 3 tournament with a 4-3 victory against No. 8 seed Woodbury on Wednesday night.
The Royals started the scoring with a power-play goal in the first period and made it last until midway through the second.
The Irish struck for all four of their goals in the second.
Kristen Reuter scored at 7:55 of the second with assists to Taylor Sampson and Rachael Kelly.
Then Rosemount struck for two quick goals.
Allison Micheletti scored at 12:19 with an assist to Alison Warweg, and Sarah Tollefson added the Irish's third tally just eight seconds later with an assist from Sampson.
Woodbury scored just over a minute later, but Tollefson added the game-winner at 15:48 of the second with her second goal. Kelly and Sampson assisted on the play.
Woodbury scored at 12:10 in the third and pressured Rosemount late, but the Irish maintained their lead to move on in the playoffs.
Rosemount will play in the semifinals on Saturday at Veteran's Memorial Community Center in Inver Grove Heights at 6 p.m. against No. 4 seed Hastings.
Hastings beat No. 5 seed Eagan 3-0 on Wednesday.
Eastview, the second seed, will play No. 6 seed Burnsville in the other semifinal. Eastview beat Henry Sibley 3-0, and Burnsville outlasted Park in a 2-1 final.
