The Rosemount varsity basketball teams, gymnastics team and girls hockey team were in action Tuesday night.
The boys basketball team took a 97-77 loss against Apple Valley. Matt Nelson had a team-high 18 points for the Irish. Andrew Nelson chipped in with 16 points. Also scoring for Rosemount was Charlie Broback (11 points), Brandon Forcier (10), Alex Timmers (8), Jeff Ruhl (6), Kevin Larson (5) and Garrett Goetz (3).
The Irish girls basketball team took a close 70-65 loss against Apple Valley. Brooke Stevens had 17 points for Rosemount, while also grabbing six rebounds to do with five steals and five assists. Laura Bodurtha had 14 points and four assists. Elaine Warner added 13 points and seven rebounds. Rachel Hoeppner scored eight points. Lindy Parker had four points, nine rebounds and five blocks. Laura Dennis contributed six points and Hannah Halterman added three points.
The Rosemount gymnastics team faced one of the top teams in the state and took a 145.4-138.65 loss.
The Irish girls hockey team came from behind to beat Eagan 4-3. The Wildcats scored the first two goals of the game in the first period, before Rosemount got going.
Rachael Kelly had two goals and an assist. She started the Irish scoring with a goal in the first and Alison Warweg added a tying goal in the second.
Eagan again took the lead early in the third, but Rosemount countered with a goal by Taylor Sampson. Kelly finished off the comeback victory with her second goal late in the third.
Lauren Riley and Kristin Reuter had assists for the Irish. Caitlin Dantzscher finished with 30 saves in goal. Rosemount was outshot 33-20.
