The Rosemount girls hockey team went 1-1 in two games last week.
The Irish lost 6-3 at No. 13 ranked Eastview before a 6-1 win on the road against Bloomington Jefferson.
Rosemount, ranked No. 12 in Class 2A, is 11-4-1 overall this season and 7-2-1 in the South Suburban Conference. The 7-2-1 tied the Irish with Eastview at the beginning of the week for second in the conference behind No. 5 Lakeville South, which is 9-1-1 in South Suburban play. Lakeville North, ranked No. 11 is 6-2 in the conference.
Last week’s game against Eastview was the second straight contest against the conference and inter-district rivals. Rosemount lost a 5-4 decision in overtime against the Lightning in the final game of the Farmington holiday tournament.
Last week was at Eastview, but a tough second period doomed the Irish.
Rosemount outshot the Lightning, 26-19, but Eastview scored three second-period goals to take a commanding 4-1 lead heading into the final period.
Rachael Kelly had two goals to lead the Irish. Amanda Wilson scored the other goal.
Taylor Sampson had two assists, with Alison Warweg and Kendra Goodrich each tallying an assist.
Caitlin Dantzscher made 13 saves in goal for Rosemount.
The Irish were 0 for 3 on the power play.
Rosemount travels to Prior Lake today. The Irish beat the Lakers 7-1 earlier this season.
On Saturday, Rosemount play host to No. 11 Lakeville North. The Irish lost 5-2 against the Panthers earlier this season.
