Irish football advances with 42-14 win over Burnsville Saturday night

The Rosemount football team advanced to next week's Class 5A, Section 3 finals with a 42-14 win against Burnsville on Saturday night.

The top-seeded Irish will face No. 2 seed Eastview on Friday, Nov. 5 in the section finals at Rosemount at 7 p.m. The Lightning advanced with a 20-0 win against Bloomington Kennedy in the other section semifinal Saturday.

Rosemount quarterback Kevin Larson ran for two first-quarter touchdowns as the Irish built a 14-0 advantage against Burnsville on Saturday. Larson later added another rushing score, while Rosemount's Nicholas Liska scored two rushing touchdowns and Andrew Hausmann also scored a touchdown on the ground in the victory.
