The Rosemount boys and girls cross country teams each advanced to the state tournament by winning their respective section championships.
It will be a return trip for the Irish girls cross country team, which qualified last season. It is the first time both teams from Rosemount have qualified together.
The two teams will take part in the Class 2A state meet held at St. Olaf College on Saturday, Nov. 6. The boys race begins at 1 p.m., the girls race follows at 2 p.m.
Rosemount's boys tied Burnsville for the top team finish with 54 points, but the Irish had the top finish for the 6th runner in the lineup.
Rosemount senior Shane McCallum was the second overall finisher, crossing the line in 15 minutes, 56.4 seconds.
Nathan Rock (6th place), Chandler Dye (9th), Calvin Lehn (15th), Trevor Capra (22nd), John Evenocheck (23rd), and Tyler Henkemeyer (25th) also ran for the Irish.
The Rosemount girls team won their team title with 68 points, five points ahead of second-place Prior Lake.
Hannah Grim finished fifth for the Irish, followed by teammates Shade Pratt (11th place), Tori Grund (16th), Ashley Comstock (17th), Laura Dennis (19th), Thana Hussein (30th), and Taylor Rambo (41st).
