The Dakota County Board of Commissioners met on August 10, 2010 and took action with respect to the following matters:

Approvals: Commissioner Candidacy endorsement for National Association of Counties 100% State Delegate. Acceptance - Recommendations for County Project (CP) 97-85 Regional Roadway System Visioning Study and selection of alignment for Mississippi River Regional Trail central segment in Inver Grove Heights. Appointments - Dakota County 2010 Canvassing Board members. Minutes - July 13, 2010 County Board meeting. Plats - Wallin 14th Addition, Hastings. Settlement - City of Eagan v. McCarthy and Dakota County. Status - Change in tax status for parcel located in Eagan

Authorizations: Agreements/Contracts - Low Voltage Contractors, Inc. Contract for fire alarm system replacement at Judicial Center, two contracts for Cedar Avenue Transitway County State Aid Highway 23 - Metropolitan Council for interceptor rehabilitation project and Dakota Electric Association for relocation of utilities, Xcel Energy Contract and authorized payment for maintenance and utility costs for CP 97-103 for rural intersection safety street lighting, MN Department of Public Safety Agreement for safe and sober community grants, Dakota County Receiving Center, Inc. Contract - Cochran Programs - for emergency shelter and transitional housing services, and Purchase Agreement with Goodhue County to acquire all interest in Byllesby Dam and the attached hydroelectric power facility. Allocation of Funds - Farmland and Natural Areas Program funds to acquire Mark Niebur natural area easement in Ravenna Township. Amendments - 2010 Employment and Economic Assistance budget to add federal national emergency grant funds. Award of Bids and Contracts - Frattalone Companies, Inc. for CP 97-83, Mississippi River Regional Trail (East Section) and Ebert Construction for Burnhaven Library renovation project. Joint Powers Agreements - City of Inver Grove Heights for One-Day Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event on September 18, 2010, Empire Township for enforcement of local ordinances, and Cities of Apple Valley, Farmington, Hastings, Inver Grove Heights, Lakeville, Mendota Heights, Northfield, Rosemount, South St. Paul, and West St. Paul to operate through joint partnership, the Multi-Agency Assistance Group

Closed Executive Session: Byllesby Dam lease litigation

Presentation: National Association of Counties 2010 Achievement Award for Energy Efficiency and Greenhouse Gas Reduction Policy
