Dakota County will receive single prime sealed bids for the final bid package for the construction of a new entry, trash enclosure and renovation of a 25,000 square feet Library building located at the 1101 West County Road 42, Burnsville, Minnesota until 2:00 p.m. local time on Tuesday August 3, 2010 at the office of the Treasurer/Auditor, Dakota County Administration Center, 1590 Highway 55, Hastings, Minnesota, 55033 at which time bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.

Pre-bid conference and tour will be held at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday July 20, 2010 at the site. Representatives of the Owner and Architect will be present.

Bidding documents including the bid form, drawings and specifications can be obtained from Engineering Repro Systems www.ersdigital.com - PlanWell© icon and will be available on or after July 15, 2010 for review at the office of Wold Architects and Engineers, 305 St. Peter St., St. Paul, MN 55102, at the Minneapolis Builders Exchange; St. Paul Builders Exchange; Dodge Plan Room (Edina); and Construction Market Data (Brooklyn Park). This project includes new interior finishes, mechanical, electrical, interior concrete slabs, roof system, windows, curbs, gutters and bituminous pavement relating to the construction of a new entry, trash enclosure and renovation to 25,000 square feet of library building. The total project work is divided between two contracts. Contract A will be for library renovation work. Contract B will be for insulation and related work under Federal funds from EECGB.

Bids must be submitted only on the bid form supplied in the Project Manual. No oral, telegraphic or telephonic bids or modifications will be considered. Submit with each bid a certified check or acceptable bidder's bond payable to Dakota County in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total base bid. The successful bidder is required to furnish satisfactory Labor and Material Payment Bond and Performance Bond equal to 100% of the total contract amount.

Bids may not be withdrawn within forty-five (45) days after the opening bids. The Dakota County Board of Commissioners will consider award of the project on August 10, 2010 and reserves the right to accept any bid or to reject any or all bids, or parts of such bids, and waive informalities or irregularities in bidding. Estimated cost for this package is Contract A: $1,825,000.00 and Contract B: $101,000.00.

The Owner requires Substantial Completion of the project by March 2011 for the library renovations and May 2011 for the license center renovations.
