Hess activated to serve overseas
Army Reserve Sgt. 1st Class Brian M. Hess has been mobilized and activated at Fort Dix, N.J., in preparation for deployment to serve in support of either Operations Iraqi Freedom or Enduring Freedom.
Army Reserve Sgt. 1st Class Brian M. Hess has been mobilized and activated at Fort Dix, N.J., in preparation for deployment to serve in support of either Operations Iraqi Freedom or Enduring Freedom. The soldier is a member of the 17th Psycological Operations Battalion, Austin, Texas.
The soldiers are normally activated from Army Reserve or Army National Guard units from throughout the U.S. They go through a series of in-processing procedures and training classes that prepare them for skills and situations they may face in their deployed environment.
Hess is a psychological operations specialist with 24 years of military service.
He is the son of Lollie A. Randen of Rosemount. The sergeant graduated in 1986 from Mountain Iron-Buhl High School, Mountain Iron, Minn. He attended the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, where he received a master’s degree in 1993, and a doctorate in 2003.
