Your weekend: Teen night is tonightLooking for something to do this weekend in Rosemount? Here are some options.
Rosemount youth in grades 6-8 who attend school in Rosemount or live within Rosemount City boundaries are invited to attend the monthly-supervised teen nights at the Rosemount Community Center. Teen Night is a safe environment where youth can socialize and interact with each other in a positive way. Activities include music, games and open gym.
Every participant must have a parent authorization/emergency contact form on file in order to attend Teen Night. A new form must be completed each school year.
The next teen night is 6:30 to 9 p.m. March 12. Cost is $2.
There will be a teen poetry workshop from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. March 12 at the Robert Trail Library.
Minnesota poet and writer Marge Barrett, www.margebarrett.com, will conduct a workshop for teen poets. She’ll give assistance to teens working on their poems for the poetry contest that is going on through the end of March at the public libraries. Anyone between 12 and 18 is welcome to attend and bring the poems they are working on. Ms. Barrett teaches classes at the Loft Literary Center in Minneapolis and is the recipient of many awards for her poetry and prose.

Dakota County Master Gardeners will host their annual “Let’s Get Growing” spring expo from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. March 13 at the Rosemount Community Center.

Sno Toppers fundraiser
The Rosemount Sno Toppers will have a chili and hot dog feed starting at noon March 13 at the Rosemount American Legion, 14590 Burma Ave. The location for the event has changed.
The event will include an introduction and reintroduction to snowmobiling.
The Rosemount Sno-Toppers are a group of snowmobile enthusiasts that prepare and maintain the trails around the Rosemount area. For information call Jerry Tompkins at 423-1534.
