While all teams talk about the strong caliber of play in the Lake Conference, the Rosemount boys hockey team is certainly living the worst of possible scenarios.

The Irish suffered through another tough week of conference play.

Rosemount — 2-3 out of the Lake — are winless in conference action. During the past week, the Irish lost 8-2 to Chaska/Chanhassen and 6-1 to Lakeville North.

For the Irish, it might be a shame Tuesday’s home game against Rochester Century was canceled due to the snow. Rosemount has four more conference games remaining before the section tournament begins in late February.

At home against Chaska/Chanhassen, Rosemount tried rallying from an early deficit.

Jared Newman and Andy Gustafson scored for the Irish. Cory Pederson added an assist, but the Irish comeback was halted quickly after the Hawks scored four times in the third period.

Hank Fairchild made 26 saves in goal for Rosemount (2-18, 0-15 Lake).

Another early deficit hurt the Irish at home against Lakeville North.

The Panthers scored three times in the first en route to the win.

Trevor Kolden scored for the Rosemount with assists to Pederson and Josh Loew.

Irish goaltender Justin Franks made 30 saves.
