When you’ve got clothes right in the title, costumers are a pretty important part of the equation and director Thom Hoffman promises great ones for the RHS production of the Emperor’s New Clothes.

The costumes weren’t on display early this week, but students were still hard at work perfecting their performances — the sniveling self-absorption of Cody Osegard’s Emperor Plumptoe; the spoiled rottenness of daughters Pookie, Kootchie and Snookie, played by Kennedy Erdmann, Kelli Breiter and Emma Wenzel; and the exasperation of just about everyone else.

The RHS production, which is on stage at 7 p.m. Feb. 18, 19 and 20 and at 2 p.m. Feb. 21, tells the familiar tale of the vain emperor and the trick played on him. For good measure it throws in a few songs and a whole lot of laughs.
