The confidence Rosemount boys lacrosse coach Lance Kuehn has in his team showed early this week.
The Irish had three games upcoming this week. Before Rosemount played at Lakeville South Monday, Kuehn said it was an important week.
The coach said it was a week in which they could potentially “win out.”
What was missing from the statement, though, was that the Irish lost to Lakeville South last year.
What made Kuehn so confident that his team could beat the Cougars for the first time?
“It was a close game last year, and we have a lot of the same guys who have gotten better,” Kuehn said. “We’ve dramatically improved over last year. That’s why I was confident about it.”
Each time out, Rosemount (2-3) is proving to its coach that it’s better.
Even in losses, the Irish are closing the margins from previous years.
Rosemount lost 19-11 at Bloomington Jefferson and 11-2 at home against Eastview. The Irish then beat Lakeville South, 6-2, on Monday.
