To the editor,
I’m unclear about the etiquette of complaining about photos that run as part of a news story. But it seems to me that the photos you printed — including one of a very cranky-looking moi — in your March 13 coverage of the Gerlach-Sterner listening session convey a faulty impression of what happened at that meeting.
The standing-room-only crowd engaged our legislators in a spirited, generally congenial discussion of admittedly serious and complex issues. It was not the Rip-Your-Rep session that those photos seem to suggest. I hope attendance at future gatherings of this kind will not be discouraged because you printed pictures in which everybody looks miserable.
