FURNITURE AND FURNISHINGS
Dakota County will receive sealed bids for furniture and furnishings until 11:00 a.m. local time on Tuesday August 19, 2008 at the office of the Treasurer/Auditor, Dakota County Administration Center, 1590 Highway 55, Hastings, Minnesota, 55033 at which time bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.
Pre-bid conference will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday August 12, 2008 at the site located at 14395 Robert Trail in Rosemount, MN. The meeting will be at the site building.
Bidding documents including the bid form, drawings and specifications will be on file for review at the office of Dakota County Capital Planning and Project Management, Judicial Center, 1590 Highway 55, Hastings, MN.
This project includes providing and placing fully assembled furniture, shelving and furnishings in the library. Items requiring final assembly on site prior to placement will require that labor be performed using prevailing wage rates.
Qualified bidders may be obtained bid documents directly from Dakota County. Bid Documents will be available after August 6, 2008. Bids must be submitted only on the bid form supplied in the Project Manual. No oral, telegraphic or telephonic bids or modifications will be considered. Submit with each bid a certified check or acceptable bidder’s bond payable to Dakota County in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total base bid. The successful bidder is required to furnish satisfactory Labor and Material Payment Bond and Performance Bond equal to 100% of the total contract amount.
Prevailing Wage Required. The current prevailing wage rate, as of the date of issuance of initial bid specifications, certified for state funded construction projects in Dakota County by the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry for all classes of labor commonly or customarily used in commercial construction projects are applicable to this contract as if fully set forth therein and all contractors and subcontractors shall fully comply with said prevailing wage rate for the entire contract term regardless of any contractual relationship which may exist between the contractor or subcontractor and his employees.
Bids may not be withdrawn within forty-five (45) days after the scheduled time of opening bids. The Dakota County Board of Commissioners reserves the right to accept any bid or to reject any or all bids, or parts of such bids, and waive informalities or irregularities in bidding.
The Owner requires Substantial Completion of the project by November 26, 2008.
