To the editor,

I had a chance to speak with Phil Sterner after the Rosemount parade. Being new to the district, I am excited about what great leadership exists in this community. Phil took time to introduce himself to my kids. Most politicians don't care to do that because kids can't vote — but for me it was important. It shows Phil cares about my children and understands that they are the future of this community. They are the ones who will be stuck with the decisions that leaders make now, and I like that Phil supports policies that will decrease taxes, increase growth and make my children's future brighter.

I want to make sure that my children have a good future. Signing a "No New Tax Pledge" means local governments and school districts have to raise taxes and request referendums. We need to think about making decisions that are best for the long term, and I believe an insurance agent can do that by thinking about the short and long term risks associated with different policies. I want to make sure that my children can go to college when they graduate from high school, and that when they get out of college they can find a job in Minnesota.
