Wescott Library Renovation
Project Location: Eagan, MN
Dakota County will receive single prime sealed bids for the renovation of approximately 30,000 square feet of an existing public library building located at 1340 Wescott Road, Eagan, MN, until 2:00 p.m. local time on Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at the office of the Treasurer/Auditor, Dakota County Administration Center, 1590 Highway 55, Hastings, Minnesota, 55033 at which time bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.
Pre-bid conference and tour will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday July 22, 2008 at the site. Representatives of the Owner and Architect will be present.
Bidding documents including the bid form, drawings and specifications can be obtained from Engineering Repro Systems www.ersdigital.com - PlanWell icon and will be available on or after Friday July 11, 2008 for review at the office of MS&R, 710 South 2nd Street, 7th Floor, Mpls., MN 55401, Architect Contract is Jeffrey Mandyck 612-375-8719. A $125.00 deposit payable to Dakota County is required for each bid set. Additional sets may be obtained at a nonrefundable cost of $100.00 per set payable to Dakota County. Deposit will be refunded upon return of all documents in useable form to Dakota County.
This project includes renovation to the existing Wescott Library located at 1340 Wescott Road, Eagan, MN 55123 including demolition storefront millwork drywall acoustical ceilings, painting, carpet and ceramic tile, new restrooms, and upgrades to existing mechanical systems and electrical systems. The library will be closed for (15) fifteen weeks. Estimated project cost is $1,400,000.
Bids must be submitted only on the bid form supplied in the Project Manual. No oral, telegraphic or telephonic bids or modifications will be considered. Submit with each bid a certified check or acceptable bidder’s bond payable to a Dakota County in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total base bid. The successful bidder is required to furnish satisfactory Labor and Material Payment Bond and Performance Bond equal to 100% of the total contract amount.
Bids may not be withdrawn within forty-five (45) days after the opening bids. The Dakota County Board of Commissioners will consider award of the project on August 5, 2008 and reserves the right to accept any bid or to reject any or all bids, or parts of such bids, and waive informalities or irregularities in bidding.
