By: Nancy Kelly, Rosemount,
I would like to take a moment to say thank you to the Relay For Life of Rosemount committee members for their long hours and hard work, giving so unselfishly of their time. Thank you to all those people who walked through the night with family and friends. Thank you to the team captains and the teams themselves who worked so hard to raise money to support the American Cancer Society. To all the local businesses who gave so much — food concession, late night pizzas, bottled water, sloppy joes, movie theater popcorn, coffee, snacks and fruit for the teams, dinner and flowers for the survivors, free massages and business sponsorships to the Relay For Life. There are so many of you that it would be impossible to name everyone. In my eyes the true heroes of the event are those who wore their purple t-shirt (the survivors) who walked that all important first lap to start the relay. It is for you that we relay! We celebrated the cancers survivors, we remembered those who have lost the battle and we promise to fight back to help find a cure for cancer. Thank you everyone for a successful 2008 Relay for Life of Rosemount.
