Rosemount teen involved in accident that killed Zumbrota woman

An 18-year-old Rosemount woman was involved in an April 17 accident that has resulted in the death of a 30-year-old Zumbrota woman and injuries to several others.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol Brittany Krueger was driving north on Highway 52 near 117th Street around 5:47 p.m. when she lost control and went through the median. She ran head on into a Saturn SL1 driven by 30-year-old Brittany Carlson of Zumbrota.
Carlson died at the scene. She had four children in her car, including her 9-year-old son who sat in the front passenger seat and a 2-year-old son who was in the rear passenger seat. Also in the rear passenger seat were a 4-year-old girl and a 2-year-old boy, both listed as friends.
Carlson’s 2-year-old son and the 4-year-old friend were listed in critical condition. Carlson’s 9-year-old son and the other 2-year-old received non-life threatening injuries.
Krueger and her passenger, 22-year-old Justin Mertz of Ohio, received non-life threatening injuries and were taken to Regions Hospital in St. Paul.
