BOYS BASKETBALL: Irish advance with easy win over Lakeville North

Rosemount's boys basketball team rolled over Lakeville North in the first round of the Section 3AAAA Tournament Tuesday night, and advanced to face second-seeded Eastview on Friday in Northfield.

On Tuesday, the Irish defeated North 79-50 behind 17 points by Mark Wieloch.

Rosemount led 39-19 at halftime, and the game was never in doubt after the break. Andrew Brommer and Troy Hoeppner each had 13 points for the Irish. Obai Hussein pitched in with 10, while Zach Vraa had eight, Blake Schwartz added six, Justin Maeck added four, and Tim Sauer, Dusty Carter, Josh Marek and Justin Larson added two.

Rosemount will face Eastview at 8 p.m. Friday at St. Olaf College in Northfield.
