Family Fun Night
The Rosemount Parks and Recreation Department will host a night of free family fun from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 15. The evening will include music by the Alpha Bits, inflatable jumpies, carnival games and more. There will also be open skating from 6:45 to 7:45. The Dakota City genealogy class will meet at 1 p.m. Feb. 16 at Ahlberg Hall on the Dakota County Fairgrounds. Anyone interested in family history is invited to come. For more information call Marlys Guildner at 651-463-8397 or Dakota City at 651-460-8050.
St. Martin’s Way will host a free Pub Talk from 7 to 9 p.m. Feb. 19 at Celts Irish Pub and Grill, 14506 South Robert Trail. The topic of this Pub Talk will be finding the balance between repression and indulgence. The topic of this talk is Naked Without Shame Versus Shameless. It will include lessons on love and life from speaker Lyle Bowe, MA.
Minnesota Veteran Family Support, Rosemount American Legion Auxiliary Unit 65 and Prestige Wine Group will host a wine tasting from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Feb. 20 to benefit the Military Youth Medal Program. There will be a silent auction open until 8 p.m. The Youth Metal Program is dedicated to providing National Guard soldiers with a medal to give each of their children as a physical representation of the sacrifices of the child during deployment.
The Rosemount Sno-Toppers meet at 8 p.m. on the first and third Wednesday of the month at the Rosemount American Legion. New members are needed to keep the club running and to keep snowmobile trails groomed in the Rosemount area. For more information call Jerry Tompkins at 651-423-1534.
KC fish fry
The Rosemount Knights of Columbus will hold a fish fry at 5:45 p.m. Feb. 22 in the gym at St. Joseph’s school, 14355 South Robert Trail.
The sixth annual Dakota County Home and Garden Show will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 23 at the Rosemount Community Center. The event will feature more than 70 booths, displays and vendors. Admission is free.
CD release party
Bluegrass/gospel musicians The Singleton Street Band will hold a CD release party Feb. 23 at Rosemount United Methodist Church. For more information visit www.singletonstreet.com.
Community of Hope Church will hold a mid-winter carnival from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 23. There will be free food, games and inflatables. The church is located at 14401 Biscayne Ave. W in Rosemount.
The Rosemount Area Seniors will host a ham dinner, catered by House of Coates, at their March luncheon. The dinner will begin at 11:30 a.m. There will be Bingo at 12:15. RSVP to Forrest Krogh at 651-423-1328 by Feb. 29.
Rosemount American Legion Post 65 will celebrate its 89th birthday at 6 p.m. March 8. The Legion post will honor a Rosemount police officer, firefighter and Legion member of the year at the event. The event is open to the public.
