Weekend events: Rosemount UMC Holiday Bazaar and tree lighting

Rosemount United Methodist Holiday Bazaar

Rosemount United Methodist Church will hold its annual holiday bazaar from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 23. There will be hand-tied quilts, gift baskets and other items available for sale and the Children’s Christmas Store will be open for kids 3 to 8 to do some holiday shopping. The bake shop will have homemade breads, pies, cookies, candies, pickles and apple butter for sale. There will be a coffee shop available from 9 to 11 a.m. Money raised at the bazaar supports international mission projects. For more information call the church at 651-423-2475.

Tree Lighting

The Rosemount Youth Commission and the Rosemount Area Arts Council have partnered to put on a full day event to commemorate the lighting of the community Christmas tree Nov. 23 at the Steeple Center.

The day will begin with a snowman ornament making class at 10 a.m. Starting at 1 p.m., the movie Polar Express will be shown for free. The tree lighting will begin at 6 p.m. and will include entertainment and refreshments. Lastly the classic film Christmas in Connecticut will be shown starting at 7:30 p.m. For information about the event visit the arts council’s website at
