Jaci Velasquez concert
Jaci Velazquez, a Christian vocal artist, and her husband Nic, will perform from 6:15 to 9 p.m. May 16 at Community of Hope Church, 14401 Biscayne Ave. The concert is for women 17 years and older. Tickets are $20 per woman or $30 at the door. Tickets can be purchase at www.cohlc.org.
The Rosemount High School Modern Company will perform its annual dance show at 7 p.m. May 16 in the performing arts center at RHS.
Rosemount will hold their annual spring cleanup from 8 a.m. to noon May 17 in the east parking lot at Dakota County Technical College, 1300 145th St. E. Residents can disposed of unwanted items not normally accepted by a refuse hauler such as electronics, furniture, metals and others. Benefit for Serenity and KayleeThere will be a benefit for Serenity and Kaylee Trezis from 3 to 8 p.m. May 17 at the Rosemount VFW Post 9433, 2625 120th St. W. The event will include a spaghetti dinner and silent auction.Both girls have a rare genetic disorder known as CDG type 1a. The disorder causes developmental delay, physical impairments and other defects.Proceeds from the event will help the sisters attend the CDG Conference and for other medical expenses. Men’s A Capella ConcertThe University of St. Thomas Summit Singers will perform at 6:30 p.m. May 17 at St. Joseph Church. The concert will benefit the St. Joe’s 2014 adult mission trip to Haiti. The concert is open to the public. A free will offering will help support the mission in Haiti.
Girl Scout Family Service DayGirl Scout Troop #55076 from St. Joseph School will hold its family service day from 3 to 5 p.m. May 18. Create rainbow loom necklaces, decorate gratitude journals, make Play-Doh and more. The event will take place at the social hall of the Church of St. Joseph, 13900 Biscayne Ave. All items will be donated to community organizations.
