VFW Men's Auxiliary donates to the Hastings Veterans Home
The Rosemount VFW Men’s Auxiliary is good at raising money. They are also good at putting it to a good cause.
On Oct. 25, several of the group’s members dropped off a check for the Hastings Veterans Home. The $3,500 was raised through a fish and chips fundraiser held Sept. 29 at the club. The event was held in conjunction with the Minnesota Vikings game against the Pittsburg Steelers that was played in London. The ladies auxiliary helped with the event.
Member Tim Griep said the club’s number one priority is to support veterans. The Hastings Veterans Home has a number of needs so the club decided to give the organization a check and let them use the money as they see fit.
The club will host another fundraiser at noon Dec. 1 when the Vikings face the Chicago Bears. Griep said the event will feature a pig roast and silent auction. Tickets for event are available through any auxiliary member.
