For three years, teachers at Rosemount Middle School had one thing they knew they could count on when they showed up at school: Kayla Travers and Amanda Robbins would be in class.

From sixth grade through eighth, neither Travers nor Robbins missed a day of school. They were was there for every lesson, every field trip, every test.

They are the only students in their class to go through all three years with perfect attendance. Their secret? Apparently a hardy constitution and a little luck.

"I just never got sick. There's no reason to stay home," Travers said.

Robbins said much the same thing. She said she set a goal when she went into sixth grade to limit her sick time. She wasn't thinking about perfect attendance until she made it through seventh grade without missing a day.

Robbins got a cold for a couple of days during her seventh grade year, but her sick days fell during winter break, so she didn't have to miss any class time.

"I got lucky. I really did," Robbins said.
