The Rosemount varsity basketball teams and gymnastics team were in action on Tuesday night.
The Irish gymnastics team reached their goal of scoring 140 points in a meet this season by beating Eastview 141.5-134.8 in a conference meet. Rosemount is 7-1 in the South Suburban Conference after the victory. Kailey Askew won the all-around with a score of 36.475.
The Irish boys basketball team took a 58-49 loss against Prior Lake. Rosemount led 28-24 at halftime, but the Lakers came back to earn the win. Kevin Larson, Matt Nelson and Andrew Nelson each had nine points for the Irish. Jeff Ruhl scored eight points. Evan Mitchell finished with six points. Alex Timmers and Charlie Broback each scored three points. Brandon Forcier had two points.
The Rosemount girls basketball had a close 60-57 loss against Prior Lake. A tie game at halftime went the Lakers way in the second half. Elaine Warner and Hannah Grim each scored 11 points to lead the Irish. Rachel Hoeppner added eight points and Brooke Stevens scored seven points. Hannah Halterman finished with six points for Rosemount. Megan Schuster had five points. Lindy Parker scored four points and Laura Bodurtha finished with three points. Laura Dennis had two points.
