Theater group will perform romantic comedy
The first major production of Rosemount’s Front Porch Players will be Neil Simon’s Barefoot in the Park. The Rosemount Area Arts Council adult theater group will have its opening performance June 13.
Director Keith Reed said for their first productions the theater group wanted to do a comedy for adults.
A romantic comedy, Barefoot in the Park tells the story of newlyweds Paul and Corrie Bratter as they face marriage after the honeymoon. Reed said it’s a well-known play that will have the audience laughing.
Reed said there is some mild adult language, so parents should use their judgment on whether to bring children.
The Front Porch Players began recruiting actors last winter. Reed said they have a small but talented group of actors to put on the first production.
The cast includes Landon Franke as Paul Bratter, Erin O’Brien as Corie Bratter, Jana Tack-Norland as Edith Banks, Alan Davis as Victor Velasco, Jim Anderson as The Telephone Man and John Loch as the Delivery Man.
Going forward, Reed hopes to recruit more people in the community to participate in theater productions. In addition to actors, Reed would like to recruit people interested in set design and backstage production to join the group.
