Seminar helps couples laugh their way to a better relationship

Several years back, Ron and Sue Wagener took the Laugh Your Way to a Better Marriage seminar. Sue, a life coach, had learned of the program through her work and thought it sounded interesting.

It’s been a lot more than interesting for the couple, who have been married for more than 25 years.

“It proved beneficial to our marriage,” said Wagener.

Wagener said the amusing day-long course offers sage advice on how to navigate the obstacles of marriage. The seminar is conducted by Mark Gungor. Gungor is the senior pastor of Celebration Church, a multi-site church in Wisconsin.

According to the Laugh Your Way website the course is about helping couples get it right, get along, have fun and achieve a successful marriage. Wagener said the video seminar is man friendly. Specifically, she said, Gungor does a good job of reaching men through humor and sincerity.

“He’s very humorous and he’s very successful helping couples relate to each other,” Wagener said.

Wagener said Gungor also uses Biblical scripture to drive home his points. While it’s directed at married couples, Wagener said anyone can benefit from the information.

The Wageners will present the Laugh Your Way to a Better Marriage program from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Jan. 25 at St. Joseph Church. Cost is $20 per person. The cost includes lunch.
