SchoolView adds lunch PIN and bus information parents
Parents and guardians of District 196 students can now find their child's lunch PIN and bus information on the SchoolView portal service offered by TIES, a consortium of metro-area school districts that provides technology solutions and support to member districts.
In addition to lunch PINs and bus information, SchoolView offers other information and services to users, including health and census information, grades (secondary schools only) and attendance. SchoolView also gives parents access to FeePay to make online payments to their child's school meal account using VISA, MasterCard, Discover Card or checking/savings account transfer. There is a 4.29 percent fee for the convenience of using the FeePay service. The school district does not receive any of the revenues from this fee; the fee goes directly to the service providers the district uses to make the online payment option available. Parents can continue to pay school fees by cash and check, and may also have the option to use electronic bill pay services, if offered by their bank. (District requirements for using bank electronic bill pay services are available on the Finance Department page of the district web site at www.district196.org.)
To establish a SchoolView account, parents should contact their child's school. Only one account per family is required; once a family has a SchoolView account, it will remain in effect until the youngest child graduates from District 196.
If you already have a SchoolView account and have difficulty logging in, go to www.district196.org and click on "Parent Portal Services" on the left side of the homepage. The portal services section provides links to directions and login assistance.
