RR work will close 160th next week
Starting early Sunday morning County Road 46 will be closed West of Highway 3 four days for construction.
Dakota County Construction engineer Ross Beckwith said the railroad will fix the tracks along the busy street also know as 160th Street and will completely shut the road down Sept. 20-24.
Beckwith said the tracks are in terrible shape and need to be replaced. The county will work with the railroad to complete the project.
"It's pretty bad, going over it at 55 it'll about throw you from your seat," said Beckwith.
Beckwith said railroad crews will begin replacing the tracks Sunday. As soon as they complete their portion of the work, the county will finish the project with any necessary paving.
"Hopefully it won't rain and we can get it done in four days," said Beckwith.
A detour will go into effect at 7 a.m. Sunday morning directing drivers around the construction.
Going east drivers will be directed north on Diamond Path to County Road 42. Drivers will then be prompted to follow 42 east to Highway 3. From 3 they will be directed south back to 160th.
To get west drivers should follow Highway 3 North to 42 and take it west to Diamond Path where they can reconnect with 160th.
