Rosemount resident writes children’s book
A while back, Jeff Lozano was in the book aisle at Target and started looking at the children’s books. As he flipped through the stories, it struck him that he could write for children.
So the Rosemount man recruited his girlfriend, Lizette Reiland, to illustrate and together they created Paws on Ice.
The book tells the story of Nosey, a dog trying to find his way in life. He finds a magical pond and the adventure goes on from there. Lozano said the book is the first in a series about Nosey and the magical pond.
Lozano has long loved to write. Years ago, he published a book of poems. Lozano said he enjoyed using his imagination to come up with Nosey. He also enjoyed working with Reiland on the project.
Lozano self-published Paws on Ice. He’s hopeful that as people read the book that they will share it with others.
While this is his first venture into children’s writing, Lozano said he’s hopeful that it will be something he can continue with. He plans to join the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.
