I would like to take a moment to say thank you to the Relay For Life of Rosemount committee members for their long hours and hard work.
Thank you to all those people who walked through the night with family and friends. Although the relay ended at 2 a.m. due to stormy weather, the event was a success. Thank you to the team captains and the teams themselves who worked so hard to raise money to support the American Cancer Society. To all the local businesses who gave so much -- food concession, late night pizzas, bottled water, soup, movie theater popcorn, coffee, snacks, and fruit for the teams, dinner for the survivors, free massages and business sponsorships to the Relay For Life.
There are so many of you that it would be impossible to name everyone. The true heroes of the event are those who wore their purple t-shirt (the survivors) who walked that all important first lap to start the relay. It is for you that we relay.
We celebrated the cancer survivors, we remembered those who have lost the battle, and we promise to fight back to help find a cure for cancer.
Thank you everyone for a successful 2009 Relay for Life of Rosemount.
