Rosemount cleanup day scheduled May 17
The city of Rosemount will hold its annual spring clean-up day from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 17 in the east parking lot at Dakota County Technical College, 1300 145th Street East (Co. Road 42). Participants can enter the site off of Audrey Avenue just south of the baseball field.
This clean-up event is intended to allow participants to dispose of unwanted items that are not normally accepted by their residential trash hauler. As they did last year, the Salvation Army will have staff on site to accept donations of usable items including clothing, household goods, kitchen items, working electronic devices and other miscellaneous items. The Salvation Army will provide tax receipts for any items donated at the event.
A new feature of this year’s event will be the collection of clothes, shoes and boots, towels, blankets, and other linens by USAgain. They reuse what they can and recycle the rest, keeping these items out of landfills. USAgain will recycle the non-reusable materials into insulation or wiping rags, or they are broken down to reclaimed fibers.
The price of disposal for some items is listed below. For a more complete list of electronic equipment and the disposal fee for each item visit the city’s website at www.ci.rosemount.mn.us. Call the city’s solid waste coordinator at 651-322-6005 with any questions.
This event is for Rosemount residents only. A driver’s license or other proof of residency will be required. The event is for household quantities of materials only.
